It seems like the rumors that Daisy Ridley has one of the larger roles in Star Wars: Episode VII has a bit more validity to it, not that anyone especially seemed to doubt it. Apparently, not only that, but her character could be one of the main through lines to Episode VIII and Episode IX as well. As you all know, J.J. Abrams is currently filming Episode VII, with Rian Johnson on board to write and direct Episode VIII while also preparing a screenplay treatment for Episode IX. It’s over a year still until we see a finished product, but it seems that by the end of this new trilogy (if not the end of Star Wars: Episode VII) Ridley will be a star. You can see a tiny bit more below, but ready for Ridley to potentially become a household name…
Here’s the story from Deadline:
Among heated competition, UTA has signed Daisy Ridley. Why would there be heated competition for an actress I’ve never heard of? Well, she is the female lead in the J.J Abrams-directed resuscitation of Star Wars, and the plan is for her carry through to the second and third films that will be directed by Looper helmer Rian Johnson. Ridley was hired for Star Wars: Episode VII after a worldwide casting search.
The actress, who appeared in several TV series back home in London before getting the job of a lifetime, is repped by Jonathan Arun in the UK and by attorney Shelby Weiser at Sloane Offer Weber Dern.
