Detroit Film Critics Announce Winners, Top Prize Goes to ‘Eighth Grade’ & ‘Vice’ Earns Three Wins

Elsie Fisher Eighth Grade

Earlier this week, the Detroit Film Critics announced their nominees for their best of 2018. A surprise to many was that “Eighth Grade” led the pack with 8 nominations. Today, the indie darling from A24 continued to gain momentum, winning three prizes including Best Picture. Perhaps the biggest surprise was a deserved win for Josh Hamilton. A24 was not done there, earning wins for both Toni Colette and Ethan Hawke as well. Meanwhile, “Vice” got into the game with three wins itself. Finally, Regina King continues her dominant critical run, picking up another supporting actress trophy. The full list of nominees are listed below. Let us know what you think in the comments below!
