First Clip from ‘Sicario’ features Emily Blunt, Josh Brolin, and Benicio del Toro

sicario-poster-header-700x300After all of the exuberant praise at Cannes for Denis Villeneuve‘s new film Sicario, I’ve been dying to see a Trailer or something of the sort. With the theatrical release not until September, we’re still a few months off from that, but we do have a short clip to share with you. The first look at the flick features stars Emily Blunt, Josh Brolin, and Benicio del Toro, perhaps during one of their very first meetings (it seems to be the end of the initial introductions between Blunt and del Toro). The three of them look very solid, though this is just a small tease for what’s apparently a top notch film. The crime thriller about American forces attempting to take down a Mexican cartel and the moral grey area that emerges could contend for some awards at the fest, including the Palme d’Or, but it’s probably a better fit for Oscar. Time will tell, but you can see the clip below. Stay tuned for plenty more on Sicario between now and the fall, as it’s quickly becoming one of the movies we at The Awards Circuit most want to see. It may or may not turn out to be an Academy Award player, but right now, I just want to see the film badly…

Here’s the clip, which is part of a larger interview and begins at 3:50, in case it doesn’t start at the right spot for you.
