First Official Look at Jared Leto as The Joker in ‘Suicide Squad’

jaredletojoker_photoWell, this is definitely not going to be confused in any way with either Heath Ledger or Jack Nicholson‘s interpretation of the seminal Batman villain. Late Friday night, Suicide Squad filmmaker David Ayer tweeted out the first official image of Jared Leto‘s take on The Joker. It’s a new visual for the character, more punk rock, if that makes sense. It’s not a bad look, just different. Leto looks pretty committed to the role, which is what you want, following in the footsteps of Ledger’s Academy Award winning turn. While Leto is unlikely to also win an Oscar for playing The Joker, anything is possible. We’ll see more of him in the part between now and the film’s release date next summer (August, to be precise), but for now, take a look below at Ayer’s tweet. Suicide Squad is shaping up to be something pretty interesting, so sit tight. A Trailer might even be coming in the next couple of months, though that’s just a hunch on my part. Stay tuned…

Here’s the Tweet from Ayer with the image:
