Writer/director Wes Anderson wowed critics and audiences alike with his last film, Moonrise Kingdom, and in turn received his third Oscar nomination for the film’s screenplay. Today we have the first poster for his upcoming movie, The Grand Budapest Hotel, and like most Wes Anderson film posters, it’s fantastic.

Ralph Fiennes stars as the famous European hotel’s concierge, who has hired a new employee (Saoirse Ronan) to become his eventual heir to the position. The rest of the synopsis “involves the theft and recovery of a priceless Renaissance painting, the battle for an enormous family fortune and the slow and then sudden upheavals that transformed Europe during the first half of the 20th century.”

The amazing cast includes Edward Norton, Adrien Brody, Willem Dafoe, Lea Seydoux, Jeff Goldblum, Jason Schwarztman, Jude Law, Tilda Swinton, Harvey Keitel, Tom Wilkinson, Bill Murray, Owen Wilson, Mathieu Amalric, and F. Murray Abraham.

Look for the first trailer for the film this Thursday, October 17. The Grand Budapest Hotel opens sometime in 2014.
