First Teaser Poster for Christopher Nolan’s ‘Interstellar’ Drops

interstellar poster slice

interstellar-poster-sliceI know that a bunch of you are salivating for any news or new details whatsoever about Christopher Nolan‘s Interstellar, so today is your lucky day…to some degree at least. While we’re still a little bit away from a new Trailer debuting, we do have a Teaser Poster to share with you that has one very interesting tagline on it. You can see it in the full image below or in the cropped one above, but it says “Mankind was born on earth. It was never meant to die here.” That’s fairly compelling, I must say. Behold the Poster (which evokes Steven Spielberg a bit, at least for me) here on the site and stay tuned for more on Nolan’s latest, which stars an A list cast that includes Matthew McConaughey, Jessica Chastain, Michael Caine, Anne Hathaway, Casey Affleck, Bill Irwin, Ellen Burstyn, John Lithgow, Wes Bentley, Topher Grace, David Oyelowo, and Matt Damon. Hitting on November 7th, Interstellar is still pretty far away, but it’s getting closer folks.

Here’s the Poster:

When he’s not obsessing over new Oscar predictions on a weekly basis, Joey is seeing between 300 and 350 movies a year. He views the best in order to properly analyze the awards race/season each year, but he also watches the worst for reasons he mostly sums up as "so you all don't have to". In his spare time, you can usually find him complaining about the Jets or the Mets. Still, he lives and dies by film. Joey's a voting member of the Broadcast Film Critics Association.

It’s so so interesting what affect of “Gravity” it will translate for “Interstellar”. I wouldn’t be surprised if Matthew will get another nomination, as well as supporting cast looks stellar, especially Affleck, Hathaway, Burstyn. For Chastain it’s too risky to have so many awards-friendly performances where split is so probable.

I’m a little iffy on the poster. Some commenters over on Collider said it was very reminiscent of Close Encounters, which is fair…I’m getting a vaguely cheesy throwback vibe here, and I don’t like it, honestly. But we’ll see what the new trailer brings.

I’ve always loved anything related to space, so that poster has me drooling… :)

I was just thinking to my self “It’s great to see Wes Bentley doing stuff again. He hasn’t really done much aside from American Beauty.” Then I checked his iMDB page and found out he was in The Hunger Games. Like, how did I miss that!?

And if there was an Oscar for Best Tagline, this would be at the front of my predictions. Can’t wait for the trailer next week.
