Georgia Film Critics Association Awards Winners: ‘A Star Is Born’ and ‘The Favourite’ Win Big


The Critics Choice Awards may have taken place last night. But there are still critics groups announcing their sets of winners. Particularly, the Georgia Film Critics Association which recently announced their annual prizes. As it turns out, “A Star Is Born” and “The Favourite” were the big winners with three apiece.

Also, there were some consensus picks like Alfonso Cuaron winning Best Director. However, they went pretty idiosyncratic with their choice in some categories. For instance, “Eighth Grade” managed to win Original Screenplay while Emma Stone won Supporting Actress. Plus, Sam Elliott was selected as Supporting Actor for “A Star Is Born.”

Meanwhile, “Black Panther” won the Oglethorpe Award, a prize awarded to a feature film produced in the state of Georgia.

Best Ensemble:

“The Favourite”

Best Foreign Film:


Breakthrough Award:

Elsie Fisher (“Eighth Grade”)

Best Animated Film:

“Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse”
