Glee Recap Episode 5.05- “The End of Twerk”

gleeSynopsis: The Glee club learns the dance of the hour: twerking. Meanwhile, Marley discovers Jake’s relationship with Bree and Rachel tries to convince Kurt they both should get tattoos.

Why Glee is doing an episode on twerking is beyond me, but it happened. I’m one of those people who simply can’t stand the whole twerking craze, it’s just giving people a reason to shake their butts. It’s really annoying, but alas it’s happening, and I’m all for watching people act like fools. But don’t let the title of this episode fool you, because there is plenty of twerking.

Tina catches Blaine in a moment of twerk and this motivates the Glee club to learn how to twerk to get a reaction from the judges at nationals. When Sue finds out about the glee clubs twerk crazy attitude, she goes out her way to ban twerking, not only from school but the state. When Will finds out about this he rebels and Sue fires him. Will doesn’t stand for Sue’s continuous bullying and stands up to her in a very Sue like manor.

Unique gets caught by Bree using the girls room, and to live up to the hype of being a bitch, Bree makes a huge deal out of it. The students begin to rebel by using the opposite stalls for their own personal preferences, but this leads Unique to using the men’s room. But when she finally does use the men’s room, the jocks of the school harass her. After this, she approaches Sue about a unisex bathroom, and of course Sue makes a mockery of the situation by installing a portable toilet in the glee room.

I don’t know why I’m forced to talk about Bree so much in my recaps but here we go again. After Jake fools around with Bree behind Marley’s back, Bree takes it upon herself to approach Marley and reveal the secret of their affair. Marley confronts Jake about this and is devastated by the news that it’s true.

Over in New York, Rachel is in need of a change and wants to look different. She shows up to her “Funny Girl” rehearsal with her hair cut short. When the director isn’t happy about the transformation Rachel proves that the transformation is the perfect decision for the character. When the director agrees with Rachel’s decision, she reveals it’s a wig. But still in a rebellious state, she and Kurt get drunk and go off and get tattoos to shake them out of their funk.

I’ve grown up always being able to share my love of film with others. What makes it particularly important to me is that my passion started with my parents and my best friend Caitlin. Whether it has been spending the whole day at the theater with my parents, or sitting on the floor of a movie store for hours with Caitlin, this love of mine has always been a huge part of who I am. This love affair has been going strong for over a decade. My name is Anna and I’m in love with film.
