Gotham Awards: ‘Moonlight’ Walks Off With Four, Affleck and Huppert Pick Up Acting Awards

The Gotham Awards were handed out this evening and the big winner was Barry Jenkins’ “Moonlight,” which picked up four prizes including Best Feature. As already hinted at in the latest Oscar Predictions, the A24 film could prove to be the spoiler in the Best Picture race by the end of the season.

Casey Affleck won Best Actor for his masterful work in “Manchester by the Sea” while Isabelle Huppert picked up the Best Actress prize for her bravura turn in “Elle.”

Other big winners of the night included “O.J.: Made in America,” which won Best Documentary. Trey Edward Schults won Breakthrough Director for his feature debut “Krisha.”
