5. Regina George, Mean Girls
Everybody has known a Regina George. She’s the girl that makes everyone’s life miserable, just because she can. It’s one thing for a villain to want power or money or revenge. But to want to destroy people just for fun? That’s the most depraved kind of villainy. And it’s what makes Regina such a memorable character. Rachel McAdams had mostly played small roles before this breakthrough performance. And since Mean Girls, she has, kind of ironically, played the sweet girl-next-door, usually with some spunk and gumption. As Regina George, though, she got to be the girl that everyone knew in high school and hated, but also secretly wanted to be.
