Holly Hunter joins the cast of ‘Batman vs. Superman’

helen-hunt-levityIf nothing else, you can’t say that Zack Snyder isn’t putting together a really strong cast for his upcoming Man of Steel sequel (which I’m still calling Batman vs. Superman until we get an official title). It already has Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill in the title superhero roles, along with the likes of Amy Adams, Jesse Eisenberg, Laurence Fishburne, Jeremy Irons, and Diane Lane, but now we can apparently also add Holly Hunter to the mix. There are a few rumors going around this week that she’ll play a mentor of sorts to Bruce Wayne/Batman, but that’s unconfirmed as of now. You can see more below, and stay tuned for plenty more on this juggernaut of a flick, obviously…

Here’s the story from Variety:

Holly Hunter, Callan Mulvey of “300: Rise of an Empire,” and Tao Okamoto of “The Wolverine” have joined the cast of the upcoming Zack Snyder untitled Superman/Batman film starring Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck.

All three actors will play characters newly created for the film.

Pic also stars Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane, in addition to Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman/Diana Prince.

Production is currently underway in Michigan.

The screenplay will be written by David S. Goyer, from a story co-created by Goyer and Snyder. Charles Roven and Deborah Snyder are producing, with Benjamin Melniker, Michael E. Uslan and Wesley Coller serving as executive producers.

Pic will bow on May 6, 2016.

Mulvey is repped by CAA and can be seen next in “Captain America: The Winter Soldier.” Hunter, who is repped by ICM Partners and Management 360, can be seen next in “Manglehorn.”

He views the best in order to properly analyze the awards race/season each year, but he also watches the worst for reasons he mostly sums up as "so you all don't have to". In his spare time, you can usually find him complaining about the Jets or the Mets. Still, he lives and dies by film. Joey's a voting member of the Broadcast Film Critics Association.
