Zetna Fuentes has been working in television for years, directing some of the best shows ever to grace the small screen. Her TV credits include award-winning series “This Is Us,” “Shameless,” “Jane the Virgin,” and the upcoming “The Guilded Age.” Fuentes got her start in daytime television where she earned Daytime Emmy nominations as part of the directing teams for “Guiding Light” and “One Life to Live.”

When she got the call to direct and Executive Produce episodes of the new Netflix series, “Cursed,” she jumped at the chance. Adapted from Frank Miller’s illustrated novel, “Cursed” is a new telling of one of the Arthurian legends’ most enigmatic characters: the Lady in the Lake.

Katherine Langford (“13 Reasons Why”) stars as Nimue, the fierce warrior who will use her mysterious gift to save the land from an evil king. Along the way she teams up with young Arthur (Devon Terrell) and the wizard Merlin (Gustaf Skarsgård), as well as familiar names from the tales of the Knights of the Round Table.

All ten episodes of “Cursed” premiered last week on Netflix to the delight of many fans of Frank Miller’s novel. Fuentes directed and produced the first two episodes. We talked about the excitement of introducing a new television series and working in the world of fantasy.
