If things weren’t already going semi-well for Academy Award nominee James Franco, he becomes the first semi-official “for your consideration” advertisement to drop for his performance in A24’s “Spring Breakers.” The 35-year-old actor, who has tried his hand at directing with “As I Lay Dying” and “Child of God” which just premiered at Venice, is the subject of Comedy Central’s Roast that aired Sunday night.
The Hollywood Reporter’s Scott Feinberg is reporting that A24 studio will use the slogan, “Consider This Sh*t” – made popular by Franco’s character named “Alien” in the film. They will pursue a citation for the actor, who received lots of praise from March release.
On the Awards Circuit Power Hour this weekend, we discussed the official kick-off to Oscar season and on multiple episodes, spoke about the horrible notion that no Oscar nominations would come out of the first half of the year. What do you think of Franco’s chances at a Supporting Actor nomination?
