James Wan will direct ‘Aquaman’ for DC and Warner Brothers

wan-momoa-aquamanThere’s an interesting theme developing for DC and Warner Brothers, in terms of the directors they’re hiring for upcoming superhero outings. Even starting with Zack Snyder, but especially in the case of David Ayer, they’re targeting filmmakers with darker sensibilities. If reports are accurate, then they’ve got another one lined up in James Wan, who’s their pick to make an Aquaman movie. Of course, this film would be post Justice League, where the character, played by Jason Momoa, would already be introduced, so he’s not really interpreting the hero from scratch. Wan is an underrated director and probably had his pick of projects, so he must be excited about the hero. With Entourage hitting this week, feel free to make a James Cameron/Vincent Chase Aquaman joke, but this actual version is coming our way in 2018, so we’ve got some time. I’m intrigued by this choice, I have to say. Maybe Wan is constrained by something of this size, but I think he’s going to be able to really do something interesting here. Feel free to let us know what you think below, and stay tuned for more on Aquaman between now and its release date of July 27th, 2018… 75Thoughts? Discuss in the comments!
