‘LA LA LAND’ Lands with a Bang – Venice 2016

The opener of the Venice Film Festival may not always pop, but when it does, it’s big.  Recent Venice openers include Black Swan, Gravity, and Birdman–all of which won big Oscars.  Today, Damien Chazelle’s La La Land opened the fest, and the reactions are nothing short of glowing.  Special notice is given not only to Chazelle himself, but his leading lady, Emma Stone.  Is La La Land looking to land big at the Oscars–taking Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Actress?  Or will it end up like last year’s Venice opener, Everest?  Nevertheless, have we already sewn up 2, maybe 3, Golden Globe races?  Check out some highlights below:

La La Land is everywhere in Clayton’s Awards Circuit predictions, ranking #4 in Best Picture, #4 in Best Director, #1 and #7 in Original Song, #7 in Best Actor (Ryan Gosling) #3 in Best Actress (Emma Stone), #4 in Original Screenplay, #9 in Cinematography, #1 in Film Editing, and #1 in Sound Mixing.  All should rise after these reviews!

What do you guys think?  Will La La Land sweep the Oscars or be lucky to lose to Lin-Manuel Miranda in Original Song?

What do you think?
