Leaked Images of Snoke, Rey, Finn, and More from ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’

The Force is with us, Star Wars fans. Take a peek below at some behind the scenes photos from the set of “Star Wars: The Last Jedi,” which were leaked early Friday morning on Star Wars Stuff on Twitter. The images were previously released as promos during SDCC, but now those of us who couldn’t get tickets finally get to see them as well. Among the bunch is a first clear look at Supreme Leader Snoke, who was only glimpsed in a shadowy hologram in the previous film, according to Hypebeast.

According to Screen Rant, Andy Serkis (“Lord of the Rings”), who plays Snoke, did not wear a single prosthetic for the film. Serkis played Gollum in Peter Jackson’s “Lord of the Rings,” where the pair used motion capture to bring the character to life. Serkis reportedly also used motion capture acting to portray Snoke for “Star Wars: The Last Jedi.”

In other exciting news, Rey’s parentage will be “addressed” in the film, according to NME. Director Rian Johnson told “Good Morning America:

It’s something that’s absolutely going to be addressed in the movie. It’s tough because this is another element of the secrecy of it all. The other part of it is there’s lots of surprises in this movie, and there’s lots of twists and turns.

Further casting details have also been released for the upcoming film, according to NME. Kelly Marie Tran (“Gortimer Gibbon’s Life on Normal Street”) will reportedly be the newest character with the most screen time, according to Vanity Fair, alongside Veronica Ngo (“Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny”), who plays her sister, a rebel gunner working with the Resistance. Benicio Del Toro (“Sicario”) will portray DJ, but no other details have been announced relating to his character. Laura Dern (“Wild”) will be a vice admiral in the Resistance with pale pink hair. Jimmy Vee (“Star Wars: The Force Awakens”) will portray R2-D2, as the late actor who played him, Kenny Baker, has passed.

“Star Wars: The Last Jedi” premieres Dec. 15. To take a look at further promo images from SDCC, look here.
