Have no fear, Deadpool will still be the pansexual, off-the-wall assassin with no filter in his coming sequel, “Deadpool 2.” After Thursday’s news that Disney is buying 21st Century Fox’s film and TV divisions, Ryan Reynolds (“Deadpool”) trolled the story with a photoshopped Deadpool being led away from a Disney amusement park in handcuffs. The caption? “Apparently, you can’t actually blow the Matterhorn.”

While the Huffington Post pointed out that Reynolds mistook Disney World for Disneyland, the joke is both hilarious and added reassurance that the merc with the mouth won’t be toned down. Disney CEO Bob Iger has also been adamant about keeping “Deadpool 2” a R-rated thrillride, telling THR:

It [Deadpool] clearly has been and will be Marvel branded. But we think there might be an opportunity for a Marvel-R brand for something like Deadpool. As long as we let the audiences know what’s coming, we think we can manage that fine.

Reynolds also delighted fans with a new poster for the upcoming film, featuring Reynolds’ Deadpool and Josh Brolin (“Only The Brave”) as Cable in a parody of Michelangelo’s “The Creation of Adam” (see at start of article). The actor called the painting “just well hung art to be shared with the world,” though “some might call this creation a masterpiece.” The image is just one of many promotional schticks for the upcoming film, following a Bob Ross-themed teaser trailer (see below), a parody of Norman Rockwell’s “The Four Freedoms” thanksgiving pic, and pretty much anything marketing will let Reynolds do.

“Deadpool 2,” set for release next summer, stars Reynolds, Brolin, Morena Baccarin (“Gotham”), Brianna Hildebrand (“Tragedy Girls”), T.J. Miller (“Silicon Valley”), Zazie Beetz (“Atlanta”) and more. The sequel will hopefully do as well at the box office as its predecessor, which raked in over $783 million worldwide, the most ever made by a R-rated film.

“Deadpool 2” slams into theaters June 1, 2018. Watch a teaser trailer below.
