Mark Wahlberg is set to replace Chris Evans in Antoine Fuqua‘s next project, thriller drama “Infinite.” Variety reported he will be taking over the role from Evans (“Avengers: Endgame”) after a slew of scheduling conflicts. Up until now, Evans had been cast on since an agreement back in January.

As reported by Variety:

“Infinite” is based on D. Eric Maikranz’s novel “The Reincarnationist Papers,” which centers on the Cognomina, a secret society of people who possess total recall of their past lives. A troubled young man haunted by memories of two past lives stumbles upon the centuries-old society and decides to join their ranks. John Lee Hancock and Ian Shorr are adapting the story for the screen.

As reported, Hancock and Shorr are adapting the script for the screen. Hancock has in the past written and directed “The Blind Side” and helmed the recent Netflix distributed film, “The Highwaymen,” which premiered at SXSW Film Festival. Wahlberg jumps onboard Fuqua’s film after having starred in last year’s Sean Anders comedy, “Instant Family.” He’s currently filming voice work on an animated film from the Scooby-Doo series, “Scoob.” Director Antoine Fuqua steered the 2001 drama, “Training Day,” which landed actor Denzel Washington an Academy Award in his role opposite Ethan Hawke. Since then, he’s helmed films such as “Tears of the Sun,” “Shooter,” “The Equalizer” and “Southpaw.”

“Infinite” is currently in pre-production with filming set for the fall. Rafi Crohn is the executive producer. The Di Bonaventura Pictures and Paramount Pictures produced feature is slated for an August 7, 2020 release date, as of right now.

Downgrade in so many ways

How big is your (D)?

Well that’s unfortunate

This feels like a downgrade instead of a substitution. However, I’m curious to see what a Fuqua and Hancock collaboration results in.

Oof not gonna lie that feels like a massive downgrade!
