Michael Douglas (“Ant-Man”) and Alan Arkin (“Argo”) are set to helm Chuck Lorre’s (“Two and a Half Men”) new Netflix comedy, according to THR. Called “The Kominsky Method,” the series follows washed-up actor turned acting coach Sandy Kominsky (Douglas) and his friend/agent, Norman (Arkin). Lorre will pen the series’ script.

Warner Bros. Television, which has an all-encompassing deal with Chuck Lorre Productions, will executive produce alongside Douglas. This will be the second Netflix series from Lorre, whose comedy series “Disjointed” premieres later this month.

This is just the most recent success for Lorre, who’s one of the biggest producers in Hollywood right now. He also produces “The Big Bang Theory” and “Mom,” two of CBS’ most critically acclaimed shows, and is launching “The Big Bang Theory” spinoff “Young Sheldon” this fall.

Douglas has been a leading man for over 40 years, starring in such hits as “The Game,” “Basic Instinct,” and “Fatal Attraction.” He’s won two Oscars for “Wall Street” and “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest,” along with three Golden Globes and a Primetime Emmy. He was mostly recently seen in Marvel’s “Ant-Man,” where he played Dr. Hank Pym.
Arkin is also a Hollywood heavyweight, with roles in “Argo,” “Edward Scissorhands,” “Gattaca,” “100 Centre Street” and “Million Dollar Arm.” He also snagged an Oscar for his performance in “Little Miss Sunshine.”
