What’s On TV? – Thursday (11/28/19) – Some Movies to Watch on Thanksgiving Day

Happy Thanksgiving! In between all the eating and family time, try and spend the day relaxing with the quintessential Thanksgiving comedy. Today’s pick of the day is:

Pick of the Day:
“Planes, Trains & Automobiles” (Comedy Central) at 2:00 p.m. ET

Steve Martin and John Candy make for a great mis-matched pairing in a race to get home for Thanksgiving. When problems arise with Neal’s (Martin) plans to get home, he is forced to carpool with the overbearing Del (Candy). Directed by John Hughes, “Planes, Trains & Automobiles” is fun road trip comedy and a perfect fit for Thanksgiving Day.

Movies on TV:
“The Godfather Part I and Part II” (IFC)
begins at 9:00 a.m. ET

An all-day “The Godfather” marathon is an offer hard to refuse. IFC will air the first two films in the classic crime saga. Checking in with the Corleone family throughout the day can provide some great holiday distractions.

Other Movies on TV:

  • “Home Alone” (Freeform) at 6:00 p.m. ET
  • “E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial” (Syfy) at 6:00 p.m. ET
  • “Bad Santa” (Comedy Central) at 6:50 p.m. ET
