‘Parasite,’ ‘Uncut Gems’ & ‘The Irishman’ Among Austin Film Critics Association Nominations

The Austin Film Critics Association (AFCA) have revealed their full list of awards nominations.

“Once Upon a Time…In Hollywood” leads the critics group nominations list with nine total mentions, including for Best Film, Best Director for Quentin Tarantino, Best Actor for Leonardo DiCaprio and Best Stunts.

Trailing close behind is Bong Joon-Ho’s Cannes winner, “Parasite,” with eight total mentions, including for Best Film, Best Director, and Best Supporting Actor for Song Kang-ho.

The group’s Austin Film Award nominees include Richard Linklater’s “Where’d You Go, Bernadette?,” “Terrence Malick’s “A Hidden Life” and Bob Byington’s “Frances Ferguson.”

The AFCA will announce 2019 award winners, including the Austin Film Award, Top 10 Films of 2019, their Best of the Decade list, and special awards on Monday, Jan. 6.
