‘Parasite’ Wins Top Honors From London Film Critics’ Circle

The London Film Critics’ Circle (LFCC) announced its winners Thursday with Bong Joon-ho‘s “Parasite” earning the night’s top wins with Film of the Year and Director of the Year.

Joanna Hogg’s “The Souvenir” also earned marks on the winning board with two immense wins, for British/Irish Film of the Year and Young British/Irish Performer of the Year for Honor Swinton Byrne.

The lead acting categories were won by Renee Zellweger for her embodied role as Judy Garland in “Judy,” and Joaquin Phoenix for his portrayal as the notorious titular “Joker.”

The London-based awards body also honored Aardman Animations with its forty-year anniversary award, recognizing the studio’s excellence in producing British animated projects such as “Chicken Run,” “Flushed Away,” “Early Man” and “A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon.”
