After directing the critical hit Animal Kingdom, David Michod has chosen his next project. Deadline has learned that Michod will direct Rover and has tapped Guy Pearce and Robert Pattinson to star in the film. The script, co-written by Animal Kingdom star Joel Edgerton, will tell the story of a man (Pearce) who after having his car stolen by a group of men pursues them through the wild and rugged Australian Outback. Robert Pattinson will play one of the thieves.
Pattinson and Pearce both have been tacking on the roles lately. Pattinson has three films coming out this year, including Cannes entry Cosmopolis, and recently signed on for Mission: Blacklist. Pearce also has three movies coming out this year, including Prometheus and Cannes entry Lawless, and has been in negotiations to star in Iron Man 3 and
This will be Michod’s first film since Animal Kingdom.
