Poster Déjà Vu: ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ Gets a First Poster

The first poster for Paramount’s Star Trek sequel, Star Trek Into Darkness, dropped today, and you can easily make out the familiar and iconic symbol surrounded by a destroyed city (much like a poster we saw earlier this year for The Dark Knight Rises, no?). Atop the rubble stands a lone figure. Is it Benedict Cumberbatch, the “one man weapon” the synopsis warned us of?

Directed once again by J.J. Abrams, Into Darkness stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban, Anton Yelchin, Zoe Saldana, John Cho, Simon Pegg, and Benedict Cumberbatch.  The film opens everywhere in 3D on May 17, 2013.

Lover of all things film and Oscar. Fantasy sports’ equivalent of George Steinbrenner. Your very own Han Solo, making friends all over the movie-loving galaxy in spite of himself. When he’s not ranking just about everything or dominating boardgames, Mark is breaking down the Oscar race 24/7 with Rain Man-like stats and knowledge. In his downtime, you can find him commiserating with other Northeast Ohio sports fans because a hero isn’t complete without a little heartbreak. If Game of Thrones, Lost, Breaking Bad, Mad Men, and Survivor are your style, then congratulations, you have something in common with this inglourious basterd.
