Quentin Tarantino Adds DP Robert Richardson and Familiar Cast Members to ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’

All throughout the week, there has been little bits of news trickling in about the next film from Quentin Tarantino. This is to be expected as shooting probably will be getting underway in the next few months. There has been two sets of casting news, as “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” adds supporting players. There’s also most recently been news about who will be helping Tarantino compose the look of the movie. In all cases, it’s familiar faces for the filmmaker. More often than not, QT likes to go back to the well, in front of and behind the camera. For his latest flick, that’s not changing in the least.

They also have the news that one of the newcomers to the cast is Timothy Olymphant. This comes hot on the heels of sources, including The Hollywood Reporter, detailing that some of the smaller parts being handed out are going to Tarantino vets Michael Madsen, Tim Roth, and Kurt Russell. The bigger story within that article though, without question, is that Burt Reynolds may be joining the cast as well. He would be the latest in a long line of careers that the filmmaker has looked to give a boost to.

Here is a bit from THR:

Burt Reynolds is in talks to join Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

Tim Roth, Kurt Russell and Michael Madsen, who all starred in Tarantino’s Hateful Eight, are in talks to play smaller or cameo-style roles in the film.

For those who forget, the plot concerns “A TV actor and his stunt double embark on an odyssey to make a name for themselves in the film industry during the Charles Manson murders in 1969 Los Angeles.” Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, and Margot Robbie lead the cast. “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” is scheduled to hit theaters next year on August 9th.
