Robert Downey Jr. Signs on for Two More Avengers Films

This is an interesting bit of news. Robert Downey Jr. has come to an agreement to star in two more Avengers films, playing Iron Man/Tony Stark. However, there is nothing in the report that says the actor has agreed to play the superhero in a fourth Iron Man stand-alone film.  There are plans to begin shooting the second Avengers film in March 2014, with hopes for the film to hit theaters May 1, 2015.

My bet is a deal gets done. It wouldn’t make much sense to have him playing Iron Man in an Avengers movie while someone else is playing him in Iron Man 4, right?

Who do you think would be a good replacement if a deal doesn’t get worked out?

What do you think?
