Robert Pattinson joins thriller ‘Mission:Blacklist’

With the final Twilight film being released in November, Robert Pattinson is looking to branch out from the YA saga that propelled him to stardom. He is the star of Cannes entry Cosmopolis and  The Hollywood Reporter has learned that  Pattinson has joined military thriller Mission: Blacklist as the man who spearheaded the capture of Saddam Hussein. The movie is based on the book Mission: Black List #1: The Inside Story of the Search for Saddam Hussein — As Told by the Soldier Who Masterminded His Capture.

Say what you will about Pattinson starring in Twilight (and believe me I have), but he has shown a desire to work on a range of films from auteur vehicles to literary adaptations and this gritty film could be another step in developing his range.

Pattinson’s next film is Cosmopolis, which will debut at the Cannes Film Festival.
