I know a few of us on staff here at The Awards Circuit (mainly Mark Johnson) are big fans of Scoot McNairy, so any profile raising role he snags is worthy of some excitement. Well, today it seems he’s become the latest to join the large cast of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice that Zack Snyder has assembled. There’s apparently no word on who he’s playing, but if I were to venture a guess, it could be that he’s playing a villain type role, though probably more of a sidekick. Hey, maybe he’s playing Flash instead? We’ll find out soon enough I suppose. You can see a bit more below and obviously stay tuned for much more on this one. I’ve liked McNairy in a lot (particularly Argo and Killing Them Softly), so good for him here…
Here’s the story from Deadline:
Versatile actor Scoot McNairy is joining Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice, though nobody at Warner Bros will confirm it or tell us what the role is. The Zack Snyder-helmed pic is already shooting scootmwith Henry Cavill as Superman and Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane returning from Man Of Steel, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as Alfred, and Holly Hunter also starring. Pic bows May 6, 2016 and leaves the participants (at least those not killed off) moving right into the Justice League movie. McNairy’s repped by WME and The Group. He’s coming off 12 Years A Slave, the just-opened The Rover, and Non-Stop.
