Steve Carell Replaces Bruce Willis in Woody Allen’s Next Film

A bit of controversy seemed to be brewing on Woody Allen‘s currently filming next project over the past few days. Shortly after production had begin, it was announced that Bruce Willis was dropping out of the movie, purportedly because of a conflict with his upcoming Broadway work on Misery. That seemed odd, considering he was already shooting scenes, including some on set photos of him with other cast members, so it’s not completely surprising that rumors are out there that Allen fired Willis, which is not something that Woody has never done before. Regardless, things have gone forward on the untitled flick, with reports having Steve Carell stepping into the role now. I’m definitely interested in seeing Carell tackling Allen dialogue again after having a small part in Melinda and Melinda, so it’s an overall upgrade in my book. The film also stars Jesse Eisenberg and Kristen Stewart, among many others, and will likely be out next summer. Stay tuned for more when we have it…
