Welcome to the Streaming Circuit, a look at what’s going to be available each week to watch in the comfort of your own home. For those of you hoping to find some quality viewing options without leaving the house, this is the column for you!
“The Fighter” (Netflix)
As Christian Bale takes home numerous awards for his turn in “Vice,” why not revisit the performance that won him an Oscar? Paired with Amy Adams, Melissa Leo, and Mark Wahlberg, Bale is the scene-stealing standout, playing a drug-addicted former boxer for filmmaker David O. Russell. He’s equally funny and heartbreaking in the role. USA Today loved his turn, writing the following at the time:
Bale is astounding as a strangely charismatic weasel, giving probably the best performance of his career.
Bale took home an Academy Award for his work here. He may well do that again next month, so compare the two now! “The Fighter” is available to stream on Netflix.

Catch It Before It’s Gone
As we wait for a new “Star Wars” film this year, why not double back on the best prequel that the franchise has made to date? Yes, lumping “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” in with those three prequels we try not to talk about is kind of mean. Still, it is actually one, and in that regard, is far and away the very best. Clayton was a big fan, writing the following in his review here on the site:
Technically speaking, this is one of the franchise’s most vivacious productions.
January 18th is the last day to watch this title on the streaming service, so make sure you get around to it before then!
