“The Morning Show” Global Red Carpet NYC: The stars were out at New York City’s Lincoln Center for the unveiling of Apple TV+’s flagship program, “The Morning Show,” starring Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, Steve Carell, and Billy Crudup. The show gives a behind-the-scenes look at the news world in turmoil. In the series, the network chooses to release their lead anchor, Mitch Kessler (Carell) amid sexual misconduct allegations. Once the coveted position is open, the office politics kick into high gear.
The show starts off with a #MeToo era subject and, according to the description on Apple’s website, explores much more. “The world of morning news and the ego, ambition and the misguided search for power behind the people who help America wake up in the morning.”
We spoke with some of the show’s stars about their characters. Surprisingly, both found their character’s power struggle comparable to a modern “Game of Thrones.”
It was only fitting the the red carpet was teeming with television personalities. Stars ranging from the team of Good Morning America, and Gayle King, and Ariana Huffington were present. In addition, a wide range of celebs including Lena Waithe, Emmy Rossum, and stars of several Apple TV+ shows also walked the carpet.
“The Morning Show” debuted exclusively on the Apple TV+ app starting November 1st.
