TIFF 2019: ‘The Aeronauts,’ ‘The Burnt Orange Heresy,’ ‘Lucy in the Sky’ Added to Festival Lineup

The Toronto International Film Festival has added more selections to the Galas, Special Presentations, Masters and Contemporary World Cinema slates. The festival unveiled the additions Tuesday morning, which include a roster of more high-profile features to the schedule. This includes Tom Harper’s period drama “The Aeronauts,” starring Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones. The film has been added as one of two new galas. The other selection is Giuseppe Capotondi’s thriller “The Burnt Orange Heresy,” a thriller starring Claes Bang, Elizabeth Debecki and Mick Jagger.

TIFF will also welcome the world-premiere of Noah Hawley’s “Lucy in the Sky,” starring Oscar winner Natalie Portman. H​irokazu Kore-eda’s “The Truth” will have a North American premiere at the fest, as well as Ken Loach’s family drama “Sorry We Missed You.” “The Tree of Life” director Terrence Malick will also be premiering his latest, “A Hidden Life.” The festival’s Contemporary World Cinema slate welcomes Cannes-winning “Atlantics: A Ghost Love Story,” from Mati Diop, “Les Misérables,”​ from director Ladj Ly, and Sundance award-winning coming-of-age feature “Hala,” from Minhal Baig.
