Much like the insta-tweet reactions from last weekend’s Telluride, Awards Circuit brings you more insta-tweet reactions from the Toronto International Film Festival.  Toronto is often a very important place for Oscar-winning films to screen, as evidenced by recent Best Picture champs 12 Years a Slave, Argo, The Artist, The King’s Speech, The Hurt Locker, Slumdog Millionaire, and No Country For Old Men.  In fact, the last Best Picture winner to NOT screen at TIFF was 2006’s The Departed.
