Upcoming ‘Baywatch’ Film Casts Pamela Anderson’s Role alongside Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron

kellyrohrbachBaywatch,” the upcoming film version of the hit 90s show of the same name, has officially cast its most famous role: that of C.J. Parker, originally played by Pamela Anderson. Variety is reporting that model-turned-actress Kelly Rohrbach is officially taking on the role in the film.

Rohrbach joins actors Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron, who have also been cast in the film. Alexandra Daddario, who starred with Johnson in “San Andreas,” also joins the cast in the role of Summer. “Baywatch” is set to be directed by Seth Gordon (“Horrible Bosses,” “Identity Thief”), with Damion Shannon and Mark Swift (“Friday the 13th”) penning the screenplay.

According to Variety, plot details are scant, but sources close to the project are reportedly saying that Paramount is taking a “comedic route” with the film, which is expected to start production in the coming months.

Much like Anderson before her, Rohrbach is a model who is starting her venture into acting. In 2015, she was named the 2015 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Rookie of the Year, but she has a history in acting, having studied the craft at Georgetown University and the prestigious London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts (or LAMDA).

Rohrbach has had small roles on shows such as “Two and a Half Men” and “Rizzoli & Isles.” She also has a supporting role in the yet-to-be-titled upcoming Woody Allen movie alongside Kristen Stewart and Jesse Eisenberg.

It has also been reported that Anderson will be in some way involved in the film, with reports claiming that, at least at one point, roles were being written for both her and David Hasselhoff, who also starred in the original show. The new team in place has yet to confirm these reports.

Shooting will start this year, with Johnson also acting as producer with his partner Dany Garcia through their company, Seven Bucks Productions. Beau Flynn, Ivan Reitman, Michael Berk, Douglas Schwartz and Greg Bonnan all produce as well.
