UPDATE: Netflix Suspends Production on ‘House of Cards’ Indefinitely

Netflix has halted production of “House of Cards” indefinitely, according to Deadline.

As reported yesterday on Awards Circuit, the Emmy-winning series was set to be cancelled after its upcoming sixth season. That season was still in production until this morning, when Netflix announced they were suspending the production until they could decide on a course of action.

After an allegation of sexual misconduct by Kevin Spacey surfaced late Sunday night, Netflix moved quickly to announce the series would come to an end. Some fans took issue with the statement, citing that the streaming service had already decided to end the series after next season.

But Netflix is reportedly exploring spinoff ideas, including one that would focus on Doug Stamper (Michael Kelly).

Some fans took to Twitter to offer another suggestion involving Robin Wright:

It should be noted that, as of this reporting, Netflix has not officially cancelled production of the sixth season. They have only suspended it. Indefinitely.
