Warner Bros. Reveals Superhero Slate that includes ‘Wonder Woman’ and More

BvS-PostersOh man, if you wish that Warner Brothers would invest more in work like Argo and less like Man of Steel, this is not going to be good news for you. On the flip side, if you mostly head to the movies to see superheroes, then this should be pretty exciting. Yes, we have confirmation that the WB has unveiled the titles of their next ten DC comics based properties, adding names to the already announced release dates. Some of them are big ones too, as following 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (starring Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill, as you already know), that same year we’ll also get Suicide Squad from filmmaker David Ayer. 2017 brings a Wonder Woman movie (yup, that’s actually happening now, it seems) with Gal Gadot in the title role, alongside the now titled Justice League Part One that Zack Snyder is at the helm for. 2018 is The Flash, which basically used this announcement to let us know that Ezra Miller was cast in that role, as well as Aquaman with previously cast Jason Momoa. Getting into 2019, we have Shazam and Justice League Part Two (also from Snyder), and finally 2020 has a surprising announcement in Cyborg, starring Ray Fisher, as well as a new take on Green Lantern. With standalone Batman movies and Superman movies as well (not to mention a Lego Batman outing in the works) coming in 2020 or the next year or so after, DC and Warner should be busy well past the point where the Ebola virus gets us all. Below you can see how the schedule looks, but stay tuned for more on all of these titles as we find out about them. It’s going to be a busy next half decade or so folks…

Here’s the full slate:

  • Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, directed by Zack Snyder (2016)
  • Suicide Squad, directed by David Ayer (2016)
  • Wonder Woman, starring Gal Gadot (2017)
  • Justice League Part One, directed by Zack Snyder, with Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill and Amy Adams reprising their roles (2017)
  • The Flash, starring Ezra Miller (2018)
  • Aquaman, starring Jason Momoa (2018)
  • Shazam, (2019)
  • Justice League Part Two, directed by Zack Snyder (2019)
