Following the announcement that the new streaming service HBO Max will launch on May 27, HBO has released the first trailer for “Love Life” featuring Anna Kendrick and one of the first shows to premiere when the new service debuts.
The romantic comedy stars Academy Award nominee Kendrick (“Up in the Air”) as Darby, a woman in New York on a quest to find love, and explores different stages of her love life up until her eventual finding of ‘the one.’ The trailer shows Darby meeting and reuniting with various different men, along with advice from her friends, with Kendrick’s character saying “I decide who I sleep with and who I love.”
The official synopsis reads:
Love Life, the first full-length scripted series to star Oscar® nominee Anna Kendrick, is about the journey from first love to last love, and how the people we’re with along the way make us into who we are when we finally end up with someone forever.
The anthology series is created by Sam Boyd (“In a Relationship”) and also stars Zöe Chao (“Where’d You Go, Bernadette?”), Sasha Compère (“Miracle Workers”), Peter Vack (“Homeland”) and Scoot McNairy (“True Detective”). The series is produced by Lionsgate Television and Feigco Entertainment.
Other shows set to premiere on HBO Max include the kid’s competition series “Craftopia,” the haunting documentary “On the Record” and the ballroom competition series “Legendary.” These will accompany a whole host of other shows and feature films that will be available on the HBO Max library come May 27, including the entire series of “Friends” and “The Big Bang Theory,” as well as Warner Bros. movies “Joker” and “Wonder Woman” to name a few.
