WATCH: ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp’ Were Busy During the Infinity War in New Trailer

Unless you are one of the few who didn’t check out “Avengers: Infinity War” this weekend, you noticed a certain tiny hero was missing.

A few passing mentions intimated that Scott Lang was around, but he didn’t join the fight against Thanos. And, apparently we’ll be getting an explanation when “Ant-Man and the Wasp” hits theaters this summer.

The trailer doesn’t make it clear where, exactly, the new film fits into the MCU timeline, but it does come after our previous visits with the smallest Avenger. Here is the official synopsis from Marvel:

From the Marvel Cinematic Universe comes ANT-MAN AND THE WASP, a new chapter featuring heroes with the astonishing ability to shrink. In the aftermath of CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR, Scott Lang grapples with the consequences of his choices as both a Super Hero and a father. As he struggles to rebalance his home life with his responsibilities as Ant-Man, he’s confronted by Hope van Dyne and Dr. Hank Pym with an urgent new mission. Scott must once again put on the suit and learn to fight alongside the Wasp as the team works together to uncover secrets from the past.

Paul Rudd once again takes up the mantle of Ant-Man, and Evangeline Lilly returns as Hope, aka The Wasp. Michael Douglas, Judy Greer, and Michael Peña are back. And this time they are joined by Laurence Fishburne, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Randall Park.

Peyton Reed directs the sequel. He stepped in to direct the first “Ant-Man” in 2014 after Edgar Wright left the project. Reed previously directed films including “Bring It On,” “Yes Man,” “The Breakup,” and “Down With Love.”

“Ant-Man and the Wasp” are set to hit theaters on July 6. Perhaps we will find out exactly where they were when Thanos came to town.
