WATCH: Brie Larson Takes Flight With a New Trailer for ‘Captain Marvel’

It’s time to deep dive into the cracks of the Marvel Universe. As the MCU continues to expand on a yearly basis, the lore of their stories becomes more and more accessible. Audiences have been on board for some pretty crazy rides, with dozens of alien races coming to the big screen. Helped by the success of “The Guardians of the Galaxy,” the MCU began to turn towards its cosmic side. While the creatures and heroes get weirder away from Earth, there are expansive worlds to explore. It is clear based on the new trailer for “Captain Marvel,” that Brie Larson will be one of the characters to explore those worlds.

The new trailer showcases some of the awesome power that Larson will get to display as Carol Danvers. Danvers becomes a superhero after being discovered by the Kree and has their blood infused into her body. She then joins the alien race, which saw its first action in the MCU when Ronan the Accuser (Lee Pace) became a villain. The race is known for being some of the toughest warriors in the galaxy. Danvers further solidifies that with her insane powerset.

The film looks gorgeous in its depiction of the space, fully unleashing the potential of Captain Marvel. Considering that Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) saved calling her until the moment before he was dusted, she must be a heavy hitter. That proves to be true several times during the trailer, especially when you combine the mohawk helmet with her one shot of wreckage through the cosmos. However, with the Skrulls and an antagonistic Jude Law on deck, there is more to this story than we’ve heard so far. With very cool direction from Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck on display, expectations are high.

What do you think of the new trailer for “Captain Marvel” with Brie Larson? Does she look like she’ll be a formidable character to join the MCU? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!

“Captain Marvel” opens on March 9, 2019. Disney/Marvel distribute.
