The deluge of Superbowl spots began with a bang: or in this case, a roar. “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” debuted its second trailer during America’s biggest sporting event, giving audiences a glimpse of a grown-up Blue.
Starring Chris Pratt (“Guardians of the Galaxy 2”), Bryce Dallas Howard (“Black Mirror”), Justice Smith (“Paper Towns”), James Cromwell (“The Young Pope”), Toby Jones (“Captain America: The First Avenger”) and Jeff Goldblum (“Thor: Ragnarok”), the trailer features nailbiting tension and of course, dinosaurs. The previous trailer showed Pratt, Howard and Smith returning to the island when a simmering volcano threatened the lives of all the feral dinos living there.
J.A. Bayona (“A Monster Calls”) directs off a screenplay from Colin Trevorrow (“Jurassic World”), who directed the first installment, and Derek Connolly (“Safety Not Guaranteed”). Steven Spielberg, who originally directed the first group of “Jurassic Park” flicks, executive produces alongside Trevorrow. Frank Marshall (“Indiana Jones” series), Pat Crowley (“The Bourne Ultimatum”) and Bayona’s producing partner Belén Atienza (“The Impossible”) produce.
“Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” roars into theaters June 22. Watch the new trailer below.
