In 1976, members of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine hijacked an Air France flight en route from Tel Aviv to Paris. The hijackers landed the plane in Entebbe, Uganda and began a week long stand off that led to one of the most daring rescue attempts in aviation history.
Focus Features released the official trailer for “7 Days in Entebbe.” The film stars Rosamund Pike and Daniel Brühl.
Rosamund Pike was nominated for an Academy Award for her leading role in “Gone Girl” in 2014. Earlier this year, she starred opposite David Oyelowo in “A United Kingdom,” and she stars in the soon-to-be-released “Hostiles” with Christian Bale.
Daniel Brühl has appeared in a number of American and German films. He appeared in “Captain America: Civil War” as the villain Zemo. Earlier this year, he appeared in “The Zookeeper’s Wife” with Jessica Chastain. Next year he will star in the highly anticipated Cloverfield film.
The film also stars Eddie Marsan (“Ray Donovan”), Ben Schnetzer (“Snowden”), and Denis Ménochet (“Assassin’s Creed”).
José Padilha directs “7 Days in Entebbe.” He previously directed the 2014 remake of “RoboCop.” Padilha is best known, however, for producing documentary films and the Netflix series “Narcos.”
The script was written by Gregory Burke. He was nominated for two BAFTA awards for the acclaimed 2014 film “’71.” That film told the story of a young British soldier accidentally left behind on the wrong side of Belfast following a riot.
“7 Days in Entebbe” will be in theaters March 16, 2018.
