blade runner 2049 trailer

The first full trailer for Denis Villeneuve‘s “Blade Runner 2049” dropped Monday. As expected, the trailer came during a live Facebook Q&A with the cast, which was announced last week. Check it out below:

Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.

Villeneuve directs with a screenplay by Hampton Fancher and Michael Green, with a story by Fancher, based on characters from the novel “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?” by Philip K. Dick.

Andrew A. Kosove, Broderick Johnson, Bud Yorkin and Cynthia Yorkin produced. Executive producers include Ridley Scott, Tim Gamble, Frank Giustra, Yale Badick, Val Hill and Bill Carraro.

In addition to Gosling and Ford, Ana de Armas, Sylvia Hoeks, Robin Wright, Mackenzie Davis, Carla Juri, Lennie James, Dave Bautista and Jared Leto also star. The new trailer gives us our first glimpse of Leto’s character.

The new trailer for the film will also go before “Alien: Covenant” when that film releases May 19. However, CinemaCon audiences got the first glimpse of extended footage back in March. A different, shorter teaser trailer was also released in December.

The film releases in theaters in 3D, 2D and IMAX on Oct. 6.
