AMC was present at Friday’s Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con. They released the anticipated trailer for season ten of “The Walking Dead.” A surprise teaser trailer followed it, revealing the return of Rick Grimes onto the big screen as a production of Universal Pictures. Comic writer and show producer Robert Kirkman has a first-look deal with Universal, paving the project to expand with three total theatrical features. The network also announced the renewal into season six for its spinoff “Fear the Walking Dead.” Executive producer Scott M. Gimple also revealed more spinoff ideas are in the works for the zombie apocalyptic universe that’s treading on a decade of being on the air. “We’re getting ready to show more of the world in a bunch of different shows, said Gimple.

Showrunner Angela Kang was accompanied onstage with executive producers Robert Kirkman, Dave Alpert, Gale Anne Hurd and Greg Nicotero. She said they are continuously finding ways to expand on the story. This is prominent in Gimple’s words on spinoff territory and where the universe can go, now that its latest season strays away from the comics.
