Watch the First Trailer and Poster for ‘The End of the Tour’ starring Jesse Eisenberg and Jason Segel

The End of the Tour Movie (1)One of the titles from this year’s Sundance Film Festival that I’m most excited to see/think could be an Oscar dark horse is James Ponsoldt‘s new movie The End of the Tour. A look at the time spent between journalist David Lipsky and celebrated author David Foster Wallace, it was a hit at Sundance and now is gearing up for a summer counter programming release by dropping a Poster and Trailer on us. Jesse Eisenberg plays Lipsky while Jason Segel plays Wallace in a performance that won him raves in Park City. One looks at the Trailer, which you can see below, along with the Poster, and you can see why. Segel appears nomination worthy in this one, while Ponsoldt seems to be on a great role, following up The Spectacular Now with this. In addition to Eisenberg and Segel, the cast includes Joan Cusack, Mamie Gummer, and more. Written by Donald Margulies, I have to imagine that it’ll spark Academy Award chatter in July when it begins its theatrical run. Check everything out below and stay tuned for much more on The End of the Tour. It hits theaters on July 31st, so sit tight until then…

When he’s not obsessing over new Oscar predictions on a weekly basis, Joey is seeing between 300 and 350 movies a year. He views the best in order to properly analyze the awards race/season each year, but he also watches the worst for reasons he mostly sums up as "so you all don't have to". In his spare time, you can usually find him complaining about the Jets or the Mets. Still, he lives and dies by film. Joey's a voting member of the Broadcast Film Critics Association.
