WATCH: First Trailer for ‘The Walking Dead’ Season 8 is Here

As they have for the past several years, AMC waited until Comic Con in San Diego to release the first trailer for Season 8 of ‘The Walking Dead.’

The trailer isn’t just a glimpse at the premiere. It is a 5 minute overview of the war that is coming to our favorite survivors. Season 7 ended with Rick vowing to kill Negan. King Ezekiel and his knights joined the fight. Gregory disappeared and went off to hatch a deal with Simon and the Saviors while folks at the Hilltop started urging Maggie to take over. And Negan, once safely back at home, announced to his people, “We’re going to war!”

The new season promises plenty of action from all our favorites, including Rick, Carol and Daryl. There is much more to see from Negan and the Saviors. King Ezekiel and the Kingdom join the fight in full force. As Maggie takes control of the Hilltop, Gregory’s allegiance is in flux. And there are new questions to answer. Will Dwight stay loyal to Negan? Will we find out whatever happened to Heath? And will Daryl ever wash his hair?

Production was temporarily halted on “The Walking Dead” earlier this month when a stuntman tragically fell and suffered a brain injury. He later died from his injuries.

The new season premieres on Sunday, October 22.

As Negan says, “I hope you got your shittin’ pants on.”
