Daniel Radcliffe‘s latest project, “Imperium,” saw the release of its first official trailer earlier this week.
The film tells the tale of Nate Foster (Daniel Radcliffe), a young, idealistic FBI agent, who goes undercover to take down a radical right-wing terrorist group. The bright up-and-coming analyst must confront the challenge of sticking to a new identity while maintaining his real principles as he navigates the dangerous underworld of white supremacy. Inspired by real events, “Imperium” also stars Toni Collette, Tracy Letts, with Nestor Carbonell, Burn Gorman and Sam Trammell.
The trailer features what looks like another impressive performance from Radcliffe, who has amassed quite the varied resume post-Harry Potter. Radcliffe most recently made waves for his performance in the Sundance starrer “Swiss Army Man,” in which he portrays a farting corpse befriended by a man stranded on an island.
The film is the feature film directorial debut of Daniel Ragussis. It is based on a screenplay he wrote alongside FBI undercover agent Michael German. The film is largely based off of German’s experiences undercover.
“Imperium” will be released by Lionsgate Premiere in theaters and On Demand August 19. Check out the official trailer below, as well as the official poster for the film.
