WATCH: It’s Time to Leave the Hundred Acre Wood in New Trailer for ‘Christopher Robin’

Walt Disney Pictures released a new trailer for its upcoming live action/CGI film, “Christopher Robin.” They released the trailer via Ellen Degeneres’ website, EllenTube.

The official trailer describes the film this way:

In the heartwarming live action adventure Disney’s “Christopher Robin,” the young boy who shared countless adventures with his band of lovable stuffed animals in the Hundred Acre Wood is now grown up and living in London but he has lost his way. Now it is up to his childhood friends to venture into our world and help Christopher Robin rediscover the joys of family life, the value of friendship and to appreciate the simple pleasures in life once again.

Ewan McGregor is the grown-up Christopher Robin. The star of such films as “Moulin Rouge!” and “Trainspotting” won a Golden Globe last year for his work as brothers in the TV series “Fargo” on FX. McGregor, though, is probably best known for his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi in the “Star Wars” prequels.

Hayley Atwell plays Christopher’s wife, Evelyn. After working in UK film and television, Atwell’s breakthrough for US audiences was her role as Agent Peggy Carter in “Captain America: The First Avenger.” Her character was so popular, she had her own short-lived spin-off TV series. Atwell most recently starred as Margaret Schlegel in the miniseries “Howards End” on Starz.

The voice cast for Winnie the Pooh and his friends is full of familiar names. Jim Cummings (“Star Wars Rebels”) voices Pooh. Peter Capaldi (“Doctor Who”) is Rabbit, Brad Garrett (“Everybody Loves Raymond”) is Eeyore, and Chris O’Dowd (“The Cloverfield Paradox”) is Tigger. Toby Jones (“The Snowman”), Nick Mohammed (“The Martian”), and Sophie Okonedo (“The Hollow Crown”) star as Owl, Piglet, and Kanga.

Marc Forster directs “Christopher Robin.” His directing credits include “Monster’s Ball,” which scored an Oscar for Halle Berry; “Finding Neverland,” “Stranger Than Fiction,” “The Kite Runner,” “Quantum of Solace,” and “World War Z.”

Alex Ross Perry and Allison Schroeder wrote the script from characters created by AA Milne. Perry has written films including “The Color Wheel” and “Listen Up Philip.” Schroeder, meanwhile, earned an Academy Award nomination for penning “Hidden Figures” in 2016.

“Christopher Robin” will be in theaters on August 3.
