Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are back to save the dinosaurs in the final trailer for “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.”
The official synopsis for the latest sequel says that Owen and Claire return to Isla Nublar to rescue dinosaurs from an extinction-level volcanic eruption. But this latest trailer reveals that this is definitely not the whole story. It’s much more sinister than that.
In addition to Pratt and Howard, BD Wong reprises his role as Dr. Henry Wu, and Jeff Goldblum returns at last as Dr. Ian Malcolm. It is Goldblum’s first appearance in the franchise since his leading role in “The Lost World” in 1997.
Also starring in “Fallen Kingdom” are James Cromwell (“The Artist”), Toby Jones (“The Snowman”), and Ted Levine (“The Silence of the Lambs”). Daniella Pineda (“The Detour”) and Geraldine Chaplin (“The Orphanage”) appear as well.
J.A. Bayona directs this film. The Spanish director is known for films including “The Orphanage” and “A Monster Calls.” He also directed Naomi Watts to an Academy Award nomination for “The Impossible” in 2012.
Derek Connolly & Colin Trevorrow wrote the script. Connolly’s credits include “Monster Trucks” and “Kong: Skull Island.” He will also be writing the third “Jurassic World” movie. Trevorrow also directed “Jurassic World,” which earned more than $1.6 Billion worldwide. That led him temporarily into the Star Wars universe where he was originally tapped to write and direct Episode IX. But Trevorrow and Connolly also worked together on the acclaimed “Safety Not Guaranteed.”
As with all of the Jurassic films, “Fallen Kingdom” is produced and distributed by Universal Pictures. This year they are celebrating the 25th anniversary of the one that started it all.
“Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” will be in theaters on June 22.
