There have been stories about Bonnie and Clyde in the past. However, there haven’t been stories about the pursuit of Bonnie and Clyde until now. The upcoming film “The Highwaymen” from Netflix is about the two lawmen who pursued the criminal couple. Also, it has a new trailer which you can see below.
“The Highwaymen” stars Kevin Costner and Woody Harrelson as the former Texas Rangers on the pursuit. When forces like the FBI couldn’t capture Bonnie and Clyde, it was up to those two to attempt the job. People had little faith in them. They even have little faith in each other. Although, the two men still aimed to accomplish their task and relied on their instincts to do so.
Judging by the trailer, both Costner and Harrelson have terrific chemistry. In addition, anyone who’s seen Harrelson’s previous work knows he can play a cowboy or lawman with ease. Films like “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri” are particular evidence of that. Also, thanks to “Wyatt Earp,” Kevin Costner has his own history of playing Southern lawmen
The film is also directed by John Lee Hancock who helmed “The Blind Side” and guided Sandra Bullock to an Oscar win. Plus, names like Kathy Bates, John Carroll Lynch, and Kim Dickens round out the supporting cast.
Right before “The Highwaymen” hits streaming, it’ll premiere at the South by Southwest Festival down in Texas. A rather fitting place where critics and audiences will get an early look at the untold story of the two lawmen.
