There is something majestic and heartwarming about pandas. A new IMAX documentary goes inside their world in new and exciting ways.
“Pandas” follows Qian Qian. She was born in captivity, but chosen as part of a collaboration between Chinese and American scientists. As part of an effort to restore wild panda populations, a researcher and a black bear rehabilitator work together to prepare Qian Qian for life on her own in the mountains.
The documentary is narrated by Kristen Bell. Bell currently stars in the NBC sitcom, “The Good Place.” She is known to younger audiences as the voice of Anna in Disney’s “Frozen.”
David Douglas and Drew Fellman directed. They’ve also directed other films including “Born to be Wild” and “Island of Lemurs: Madagascar.” Fellman wrote and produced, and Douglas was the director of photography.
“Pandas” is distributed by Warner Bros Pictures and IMAX, and will be released in theaters on April 6.
